Development of Production

To safeguard the production, we always work on comprehensive and complete functional testing. X2E has extensive experience in creating boundary-scan tests and AOIs. Moreover, a semi-automated assembly line is available for fast production of prototypes; for mass production a fully automated assembly line.

Automated (SMD-) Assembly

With our fully automatic assembly machine small series of up to size 0603 components can be assembled. Solder is applied previously via manual stencil printing. Once being assembled, the actual soldering process is made by means of condensation (VPS = vapor phase soldering). This prevents overheating of the components and achieves an optimal soldering result. It is also possible to assemble components from both sides.

Manual Assembly

In addition to automated assembly, remaining components such as for example bigger plated through plugs are soldered by hand. This offers the advantage to assemble even those components which would not stand vapor phase soldering. We are also able to manually assemble complete components (up to size 0402) including SMD-parts for single prototypes. Manual assembly can also be done by means of manual placement machines in case that components shall, despite manual assembly, undergo vapor phase soldering.
